Lunch:

How do I add money to my child’s lunch account? You may take a check or cash to the Student Union. Please be sure to indicate students’ name and grade, and how you would like it split between them (if more than one). For a small fee, you can also use the PAYPAMS online service. This can be found on Gateway’s website under “Student Life” then “Student Food Services”. Each student is issued his/her own keypad id.

Can I limit what my child spends or is able to purchase? Yes! Please email Vance Hobbs for this and any other Food Services questions. vance.hobbs@orendaeducation.org

Can I eat lunch with my child? Yes! Please sign in as a visitor in the Student Union first to get a “Visitor” tag. All lunch visitors must be listed on the students approved contacts list in Frontline.

Where can I find lunch/breakfast menus? On Gateway’s website under “Student Life” then under “Student Food Services”, you will find a link to menus. You can also access that page through the Gateway App by clicking the "Food Services" button on the home screen.

How much is lunch? Elementary (K – 4th) lunch is $4.00; Secondary (5th – 12th) lunch is $4.50. More information about Food Services can be found on Gateway’s website.

Pick-up/drop-off/tardy/absences:

What do I do when my student is tardy? What time is considered tardy? Elementary doors are locked at 7:45 a.m.; secondary doors are locked at 8:30 a.m. If a student arrives on campus after those times, they must be signed in at the Student Union (not just dropped off).

I need to pick up my student early. Appointments should be scheduled after school when possible. If you do need to pick up your student early, please go to the Student Union with a photo id to sign out your student, and then their classroom will be called.

How will I know if Gateway is closed or delayed due to inclement weather? Delays or closures will be posted on the Gateway website, Gateway's Facebook page and sent out to all who subscribe to "schoolwide" on the Gateway app.

Who do I notify when my child will be absent? Fill out the online form on Gateway’s website. Go to “Parents” then “Absence Submission”.

Where do I turn in a doctor’s note from an appointment? The preferred method is to upload a copy of the doctor’s note on Gateway’s website (www.gatewaycps.org) by clicking on “Parents” and then “Absence Submission”. You may also deliver it to the Student Union.

My child’s pick-up arrangements have changed for today – who do I notify? Once the school day has started and you need to change pick-up arrangements for your child, please call the main Gateway number. Teachers do not always have time during the day to check email, so email is not a good way to let your child know that arrangements (such as who is picking up the child) have changed.

Where can I find a listing of school holidays? The 2023-2024 approved calendar can be found on the Gateway website on the left-hand side under “School Year Calendar”. You can also access it through the app.
